Collège Universel to launch a collegiate women’s hockey program in 2021-22

Gatineau -

Collège Universel – Gatineau Campus, is proud to announce the launch of the Outaouais region’s very first prep-school type women’s collegiate hockey program, starting September 2021.

The program is aimed at promoting academic success and the completion of a diploma of college studies (DEC) by student athletes, in a setting that effectively encourages both academic achievement and athletic performance.

This women’s hockey program will allow players from the region, the rest of the province and abroad to pursue their college studies without compromising their athletic development. In addition, the program will give the student athletes greater visibility throughout North America thanks to participation in high-profile women’s hockey tournaments.

Student athletes who join Collège Universel’s women’s hockey program will be eligible for a custom timetable allowing them to have a good balance between classes and practices. On weekends, they will participate in showcase type tournaments in Québec and outside Québec.

An information session will be held this October; the date and time will soon be posted on Collège Universel’s website and social media feeds.
